The Alborán · The Archive
Heritage long-form. The places where the game began and the rooms where it grew up.
What lives in this section
Pieces in The Archive look at where padel came from and how it travelled. Primary-source reporting where it can be found, archival photographs where they survive, and slow long-form writing on the people, the rooms and the decades that built the sport.
The section is structured around what we can verify rather than what we can imagine. When the record is thin we say so, and when it's rich we let it run.
The Archive doesn't chase scoops. It collects what's already there and writes it down properly, in the belief that a sport this young still has a chance to remember itself accurately, if anyone bothers to try.
